Community guidelines — ceya

Last updated: 9 October 2026

The short version

ceya helps you notice people who are already around you, and the friends you have in common. It only works if everyone feels safe being visible. So: be someone people are glad they met.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Content that breaks these guidelines is removed, and accounts responsible for it can be suspended or deleted.

Not allowed

Do not post, write or share anything that:

  • is illegal, or encourages crime or violence,
  • is hateful, racist, sexist or demeaning towards people because of who they are,
  • is sexually explicit or pornographic,
  • sexualises minors in any way — see our child safety standards,
  • insults, threatens, harasses, humiliates or defames someone,
  • shares someone else's personal information without their consent,
  • glorifies or gives instructions for self-harm, suicide or eating disorders,
  • is spam, advertising, a scam or a chain message.

And do not:

  • pretend to be someone else, or lie about your age or identity,
  • follow, contact or seek out people who have made clear they do not want it,
  • use Radar to locate someone who does not want to be found,
  • use bots or scrapers, or try to break or get around how ceya works,
  • create a new account to get around a suspension.

Reporting and blocking

You can report a person, a post or a comment from inside the app, using the three dots next to it. Reports are private: the person is never told who reported them. Our team reviews every report within 24 hours.

You can block anyone from their profile. A block takes effect straight away: you stop appearing to each other on Radar, you stop seeing each other's posts and comments, and any friendship between you ends. You can undo a block in Settings.

Our app also screens posts, comments and profiles for objectionable words before they are published. It is a first line, not a judgement — anything it misses is what reports are for.

What happens when the guidelines are broken

  • Content that breaks these guidelines is removed.
  • Accounts can be suspended. A suspended account cannot sign in, and its profile, posts and comments are hidden from everyone.
  • Serious or repeated violations lead to the account being deleted.
  • Anything involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children leads to immediate removal and is reported to the authorities.

Meeting people

ceya cannot verify that people are who they say they are. When you meet someone you got to know through ceya, meet in a public place, tell someone where you are, and trust your instincts.

The fine print

These guidelines summarise the rules in our terms of service (section 5). Where the two differ, the terms of service apply. Questions: support@aurora-creation.com.
